Help Wanted: Friends Needing Friends

Do you have a New Year’s Resolution to “give back” or to “get more involved”? The Friends of the East Kingston Public Library needs you!
We have immediate openings for volunteers in several positions:

The Pound School Used Book shop is open two shifts on Fridays (10:00 am to 1:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm) and one on Saturdays (10:00 am to 1:00 pm). The shop is staffed by volunteers who typically work only one shift each month. We need a few more names to add to our schedule list.

Our Programs Committee is in need of new members. If you’ve ever enjoyed one of the great programs put on by the Friends at the Library, here’s a good opportunity to get more involved. The committee meets one morning a month for 2 hours at the Library.

Also, the Programs Committee is currently without a leader, a must-have for us to continue offering the quality programming at the Library for which we are known. If you have managerial skills, this is a super opportunity for you to give back. In addition to the monthly committee meetings, the chair participates in the quarterly Friends board meetings.

Finally, the Friends Board of Management urgently needs a Secretary. Major responsibilities include taking and publishing meeting minutes (we meet once a quarter in the evening at the Pound School), as well as organizing and maintaining our Corporate Record Book. If you have some secretarial skills, this is a great opportunity for you to get more involved.

If one of these openings is of interest, please contact President Ted Lloyd for more information. He can be reached by email (ted@onepinewoods.us) or by phone at (603) 479-7073 If you’re not currently a Friends member, no problem! We can quickly sign you up. Our annual dues are only $15 — the best donation deal in town!
