Don’t miss this! E.K. Beer Event April 26th

Tickets to taste great BEER at the Neighborhood Beer Company are going fast!

The Friends of the East Kingston Public Library will host a special evening at Exeter’s newest (and only) craft beer brewery on Tuesday, April 26 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm at the Neighborhood Beer Company tasting room, featuring a special presentation by Horst Dornbusch, internationally-recognized beer industry consultant, and Neighborhood’s own braumeister.

The event will begin with a welcome, followed by Horst’s entertaining and informative presentation, tours of the brewery with a question-and-answer session. Of course, there will be a sampler of four of the beers currently on offer, and once you’ve picked a favorite, an opportunity to purchase a pint at the cash bar, or a growler to take home.

Horst Dornbusch is an internationally-known authority on beer, an award-winning beer author and brewer, and as he boasts, a “multilingual beer raconteur.” He is fluently bilingual in English and German and knows enough French and Spanish, he says, “to get himself into trouble.” A frequent contributor to many international beer publications, he was honored in 2002 with the Golden Quill and Tankard Award by the North American Guild of Beer Writers for best feature on brewing. He has been a guest on national and local radio shows and podcasts. His book titles include: the two Classic Beer Style volumes, Altbier and Bavarian Helles; Prost! The Story of German Beer; and most recently Beer Styles from Around the World.
Early on in the development of Neighborhood Beer Company, the three founders – Joe Berwanger, President; Mike O’Donnell, Chief Marketing Officer; and, Tim Diaz, Chief Operating Officer – seized on an opportunity to have Horst come on board as VP and Creative Director.
The tasting room opened it’s doors last September, offering “Classic German Beers with an American Twist!” After 7 months, it continues to fulfill that promise with Horst’s interpretations of a Kölsch from Cologne, an Altbier from Dusseldorf, an “imperialized” Bavarian Forest Dampfbier, a German Imperial Oatmeal Schwarzbier, a Bavarian Dunkel and a Rhineland Dopplesticke recently rated 95 points on BeerAdvocate! Neighborhood’s beers are available in nearly 50 locations around the Seacoast, and are quickly developing a solid reputation in local craft beer circles. Check them out at http://nhbeerco.com, or on https://www.facebook.com/neighborhoodbeer.
The evening promises to be highly entertaining and informative for everyone from beer aficionados and those new to the craft beer scene. The Neighborhood Beer Company tasting room is located at 156 Epping Road (Route 27) in Exeter. We will start promptly at 7:00 pm, so get there early. Tickets are available only at the East Kingston Public Library, and will be limited to the first 40 persons to register and pay. The cost will be $15 per person ($10 for Friends members), including the presentation, tour, a sampler flight of four beers, and a souvenir from the brewery.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the East Kingston Public Library as part of our mission to provide quality entertaining and informative programs for the people of East Kingston.
